Good news for longtime homeowners age 65 and older in Yavapai County! Arizona offers valuable property tax protection programs that help you age in place comfortably.
The Senior Valuation Protection (Senior Freeze)
This program freezes your home’s Limited Property Value (LPV) for three years, protecting you from large tax increases caused by rising property values.
- Does not freeze your entire tax bill but stabilizes a key component.
- Must be 65+, primary residence, and meet income guidelines.
- Applications for the next cycle (2027 values) are typically open January through September 1.
2026 Note: The deadline for the prior cycle was September 2025. Plan ahead for the current open period.
Additional Senior & Disability Relief
- State tax credits for qualifying seniors.
- Exemptions for widows/widowers and disabled homeowners.
- Special programs for disabled veterans.
