Lisa Mitts is a Prescott singer-songwriter and pianist whose work sits across Americana, alternative country, modern folk rock, and faith-leaning writing without collapsing into a single format. The useful introduction is to hear that range, then to see the advocacy that travels with it.
She publishes from lisamittsmusic.com. Listen there first.
Hear the range on purpose
Versatile is a listening assignment, not a slogan.
- Play a ballad, a road song, and a faith-leaning cut in one sitting.
- Notice piano as a first instrument, not decoration.
- Do not force every track into one radio format.
Albums such as Sing Baby Sing, Broken Crayons, and Fly Away, plus singles including “Humble Road,” “Arizona,” and the 2026 Rexius Records single “Carry Me Back To You,” are the map. Lisa Mitts writes across lanes because the material does. New work from the album Be The Change is listed on her media page.
Treat awards as a bibliography
Keep organizer names attached. Do not add honors that are not on her site or in her own posts.
From her About page and Media News:
- 2025 Elite Music Award, Songwriter of the Year
- Two International Singer-Songwriter Association Gold Album of the Year honors (2020 and 2023)
- Three 2026 World Entertainment Awards
- 2026 Intercontinental Music Awards finalist for “Broken Crayons”
- World Songwriting Awards recognition for the “Fly Away” video
Lisa Mitts names producers when she records. Brandon Bee has produced her work in recent years and appears with her at Evening of Destiny. Earlier catalog work included sessions with Allen Stone.
Keep collaboration and advocacy in the same bio
In 2012 Lisa Mitts and David Mitts founded Destiny House Restoration Center, a 501(c)(3) serving adult female survivors of sex trafficking through education, aftercare, and the long-term goal of a transition home. She is Director of Administration and Fundraising. The annual Evening of Destiny benefit at the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center at Yavapai College funds that work. The 2026 concert is listed for October 24; tickets run through ycpac.com.
Her VoyagePhoenix interview is the public statement of that pairing: the catalog and the nonprofit are not separate careers.
How a new listener should start
- Open lisamittsmusic.com.
- Play one recent single and read the VoyagePhoenix conversation.
- If a live date is posted, go to the room. Confirm times on the site or the venue page.
A versatile voice still needs a front door. Lisa Mitts’s is the official site.
