Mark C. DeLuzio

Speaking June 24, 2022 12:00 pm

Mark is the proud father of Scott and Steven DeLuzio. Both Scott and Steven served honorably in the Army’s Infantry Division in Afghanistan (Steven also served in Iraq). Unfortunately, Steven was killed in action in Afghanistan, and was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Both Mark and his wife, Diane, befriended many of Steven’s military brothers. They soon realized that our country does a great job at teaching our heroes how to “put the uniform on”, but there is a lot to be done in teaching them how to “take the uniform off.” Although Mark is not qualified to offer personal counseling to our veterans, he is qualified to offer them advice and direction in the world of business. Mark’s passion for our military veterans is what drives this initiative.

Whether through speaking, authoring, or service on corporate and non-profit boards, Mark’s passion for educating others is evident. Before relocating to Arizona to be closer to family, he spent eight years on the board of his alma mater’s school of business. Institutions like MIT’s Sloan School of Business, Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business, and RIT have invited him to talk with their students about his experiences with DBS and Lean in order to deepen their understanding of what does and doesn’t add value. Following the success of his first book, Turning Waste into Wealth, Mark is currently writing another book which will be published in 2018.

Scott DeLuzio

Speaking June 24, 2022 2:00 pm

Scott DeLuzio is an Army veteran, having served six years with the Army National Guard, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2010. Scott’s brother, Steven, was also deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. Unfortunately, Steven was killed in action on August 22, 2010. After returning home, Scott struggled with coping with the stresses of combat, the loss of his younger brother, and adjusting back to civilian life. In the years following Scott’s deployment, he noticed other veterans dealing with their struggles in unhealthy ways. Scott started his podcast, Drive On Podcast, to connect with current and prior service members. Through the podcast, Scott hopes to let other veterans know that they are not alone in their struggles. He interviews veterans and civilians to discuss personal triumphs, life experiences, and emotional hardships to give hope and strength to the military community.

Scott lives in Surprise, Arizona, with his wife, Vicki DeLuzio, and their three children.

Born and raised in Prescott, Arizona I’ve lived among working cowboys and their families most of my life. Love of the lifestyle, the culture, heritage and traditions is strong in me, and preserving those facets of my life has become a driving force.

I’ve been writing poetry and music since I was about ten years old, and started playing my dad’s Harmony guitar about the same time. Much of what I write holds experiences that unfolded while living among those working cowboys and their  families.

I’ve been an evangelist, teacher and preacher for over 40 years, and became an ordained minister a few years ago.
